State Parks :: Northeast Pennsylvania Mountain Region
Back to State Parks
The Northeast Pennsylvania Mountain Region of Pennsylvania is known for its downhill skiing, but there's even more to do in the region than hit the slopes. Get in touch with the ice age at Archbald Pothole State Park, home of the world's largest glacial pothole, which was formed nearly 15,000 years ago. At Worlds End State Park, snowmobile on trails and then stay the night in a rustic cabin. Hike 43 miles of trails at Hickory Run State Park, and visit Boulder Field, a National Natural Historic Landmark. Nestled in the Endless Mountains, Mount Pisgah offers plenty of ice sports, including ice-skating and fishing in Stephen Foster Lake. Or, stick to the skis and trek cross-country at Nescopeck State Park.
